Our range of sugar-free chocolates is made from maltitol. Find out more about this sweetener and about sugar-free chocolates.

What Is Maltitol?
Maltitol is a carbohydrate. It is made from extracts of cereals but does not contain gluten. With its low glycemic index, it is absorbed more slowly than sugar by the body. Its energy value is two times less than that of sugar but sweetening properties are roughly equivalent… and its taste is very similar to sugar.
With 2-3 calories against 4 calories per gram for sucrose, maltitol is suitable for type 2 diabetics or for persons who follow a sugar-free diet. Furthermore it does not lead tooth decay. If you are following a strict diet, we recommend that you consult your doctor for more information about maltitol (this product is not absorbed by the body and may cause small gastric disorders).
